2 Key themes: Safety & Student sense of belonging
Thoughts to center on from: “Objectives for Site Councils”
Motion to change wording from “To promote positive attitudes toward public education” to “To promote positive supports and interest towards the Oregon City High School community.”
Unanimous support for the motion.
Poll - Safety or Students as first priority.
9 of 9 members polled said safety
“First word” that comes to mind:
Plenty of room for improvement.
Calendar - Schedule training for early in the year (QPR, CPR, epi-pen, defibrillator, Narcan, for all).
Ongoing continuous testing of alarms
Repeat protocols - especially when needed to improve/refresh for students
Future Goal: communicate with community as events occur (before and after).
Safety Survey: For staff? For students? If given, what were the results?
High school tour for parents: with and without students to look around - what do they see?
Safety committee: District level committee currently, but not a building-level committee
Admin, SRO, Office staff, and security team are all part of the district committee
Could others participate?

Panorama platform? Paid option that creates and distributes surveys. Results are presented and collected twice a year..

Create a calendar of scheduled safety events:
ID people who could be contacted to provide trainings - start that process.
Research Safety Surveys - ID resources, potential questions.
Student suggestions: Include options: Multiple choice with option to expand.
