Course Selections

  • This course will provide the opportunity to participate in a variety of physical activities: soccer, floor hockey, softball, pickleball, cooperative activities, badminton, volleyball, and team handball. Students will also do fitness testing twice, once at the beginning of the first quarter and once at the end of the semester. This course may be repeated for credit.

  • In this class you will use body weight as well as light weights, bands, and other methods to learn basic weight lifting form and safely while helping tone muscles. This may be done with partners, as well as whole group activities. This class is geared towards basic lifting using free weights and is designed to improve muscle tone and definition without bulk. This course may be repeated for credit.

  • In this class you will exercise using only your own body weight. These exercises assist in improving overall strength and flexibility. These low-impact workouts focus on isometric and dynamic exercises that not only strengthen your body, they will also improve your posture and flexibility. After tiring the muscles, students will stretch to help develop long, lean, supple muscles. Students are required to use a YOGA mat that we supply OR bring their own if they prefer. This course may be repeated for credit.

  • This is a course designed to emphasize participation and understanding of weight training techniques, cardiovascular fitness, strength and flexibility. Students in this class will develop knowledge of skills and methods that are necessary to continue conditioning and weight training as a lifetime recreational activity. This course may be repeated for credit.

  • Advanced Weight Training is a high intensity course designed to meet the needs of highly motivated athletes. Students should expect to work extremely hard and see significant increases in strength and power. This course is open to all athletes. This course may be repeated for credit.
