OCHS Honors Environmental Science Field trip and Guest Speaker
The Honors Environmental Science class at OCHS has been up to a lot! In September we got a tour of Clackamas Community College's Environmental Learning Center and heard from career professionals in wetland management, water quality, and drone technology. We got to test water samples from the pond, identify wetland plants, and help demonstrate the drone's power to search for landscape features and hazards.
On this first day of November, we got to hear from a speaker from Clackamas River Basin Council about the importance of stream macroinvertebrates and watershed health. We used Virtual Reality goggles to get a bird's eye view of the Clackamas River watershed and explore the diversity of natural habitats and human uses of local land and water.
