NW Noggin visited CAP Classes
January 25, 2024
Dr. Bill Griesar and his college/graduate student volunteers with Northwest Noggin visited OCHS's Comparative Anatomy classes. They brought human and animal brains, talked about their research and answered student questions about neuroscience. Some student questions included:
"What happens when we get a concussion? How does a traumatic brain injury impact the brain? What is the best way to learn? What research are you doing and how did you know you wanted to study that topic?"
Students made pipe cleaner models of neurons with artist Jeff Leake. Some students were able to test out the TENS unit where one student could control another student's arm movements.
