AP Biology study of DNA

AP Biology students collected, amplified and analyzed their own DNA to determine if there is a connection between their genes and their preference for staying up late or getting up early. In these pictures, students are collecting cheek samples and preparing them for amplification through the process of PCR. The next day, they loaded their billions of copies of DNA into an electrophoresis chamber to separate their DNA by size. Each student's individual results were added to a class data set to see if there is a correlation between their genes and their sleep behaviors.
