The yearbook has finally arrived for the 2024-2025 school year. If you have prepaid, you can pick up your yearbook at the ticket booth near the auditorium, before school, during both lunches, as well as after school. Please have your student ID or student VUE ready to display. If you are not sure if you have paid, there will be a list printed near the ticket booth in grade and name order. You can still purchase a yearbook at the accounting office for $80. As a reminder, this yearbook is a student-produced publication. While every effort has been made to ensure accuracy, any errors or omissions are unintentional. We appreciate your understanding and are committed to improving each year. Go Pio’s!
The Drama Department is doing “Mamma Mia, the Musical” next fall, and they want YOU to audition! Auditions will be the last week of school, and sign-ups are available at the end of I-Hall. For more information, reach out to the drama teacher, Jorie Jones.
The library will be doing summer checkouts again this year! Drop by the library and load up with some amazing books to read during your summer break! Books will be due back the first week of school next year.
LGBTQ Month:
Harvey Milk was the first openly gay politician to be elected in California. He served almost eleven months in office before being assassinated. During his time in office, he sponsored a bill banning discrimination in public accommodations, housing and employment on the basis of sexual orientation. His passion and drive to make change in politics earned him the support of many gay bar owners who had become frustrated by the lack of support in dealing with police harassment. Milk became an icon and martyr in the gay community and was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2009.
Have a great day PIOS!
