PIONEER PETE

Webster describes a pioneer as a new person or group that originates or helps open up a new line of thought or activity or a new method or technical development.

Oregon City was one of the first settlements in the Northwest Territory and was founded and developed by a hardy band of settlers. Through the efforts of these pioneers, Oregon City has the distinction of being named the first capital of the State of Oregon in 1859.

It is only fitting that our school should adopt the pioneers as their school mascot.

Pioneer Pete has been a true and proud pioneer in every aspect of school life.
