SNHS attends Marine Science Day

The Science National Honor Society at OCHS had the opportunity this weekend to visit the Hatfield Marine Science Center's "Marine Science Day." We saw some cool marine organisms like anemones and rockfish at the Visitor Center, then went on a tour of the surrounding Estuary habitat and checked out the Tsunami Evacuation Center. We were also able to see the Oregon State University research wings of the building, and hear about the research going on there from scientists and college students, including studies on aquaculture and nearshore fish population sustainability. Finally, we went to South Beach State Park for a beach cleanup! It was a fun and educational experience!
