Congratulations to the following Oregon City DECA members who competed at the 2025 Oregon DECA Career Development Conference this week and received awards for their various competitive event competitions: Levi Pinkerton - Business Service Marketing, 7th place overall and Roleplay #1, 3rd place. Nathan Stiemsma - Professional Selling Event, 5th place overall and Roleplay #1, 3rd place. Nicolas Perez - Apparel and Accessories 8th place overall and Roleplay #2, 2nd Place. Integrated Marketing Campaign Service 9th place overall, written manual 2nd place and Sports and Entertainment Marketing 7th place overall. These additional students placed in the TOP 20 for their competitive events: Wolfgang Jespersen, Harlee Robinson, Aubrey Trine and Dallilah McTigrit.
Thank you all for participating in the Pioneer Pantry Canned food drive. The final winners will be announced next week. The results through Thursday are: Division 1 Leader: Ms. Zeal with 330.5 points, Division 2 Leader: Mr. Robinson with 99 points, Division 3 Leader: Mr. Clegg with 230.5 points, Division 4 Leader: Mr. Liebrecht with 149.5 points, Division 5 Leader: Ms. Traver with 346.5 points.
In celebration of Black History Month here at OCHS, we will be highlighting famous figures of Black history during morning announcements throughout the month of February: Kamala Harris is an American politician and attorney who served as the 49th vice president of the United States from 2021 to 2025. She was the first female U.S. vice president, making her the highest-ranking female official in U.S. history.
